Muscatine, Iowa – August 10, 2018 – Kent Corporation supports the Washington Township Fire Department with a $50,000 donation toward the purchase of an additional fire truck for the volunteer department in Washington, Indiana.
The donation from Kent Corporation presented the Washington Township Fire Department with a check for $50,000 Friday August 10th, 2018. The donation which was made at the Muscatine Fire Department and included members of the Washington Township department, Muscatine Department and Kent Corporation staff helped secure an E-One Bronto Skylift aerial ladder truck previously used by the City of Muscatine.
The truck will be a welcome addition to the fleet for the Washington Township department and the communities it serves. The next closest ladder truck is nearly 30 minutes away which presents challenges in a case of an emergency where multiple ladder vehicles are needed. This truck will be a huge benefit to the citizens of both Washington Township and all of Daviess County.
Washington Township Fire Chief Tony Wichman said, “This acquisition will go a long way in making Washington Township a safer place for everyone. I cannot thank Kent Corporation and GPC enough for their generous contribution to this project.”
